Arturo is one of the talented emerging voices on our team. With a deep passion for architecture and a strong drive to grow, he’s already making a meaningful impact. His work ethic, curiosity, and quiet charisma have not gone unnoticed—and we’re excited to follow his journey as he continues to evolve in the field.
What do you wish more people knew about you?
I wish people knew that I don't take myself as seriously as I may look. My few friends know that I am always very unserious; I always try to be funny, crack jokes, make them laugh, but also just be a good friend whenever I need to be for them. I am not as serious or as standoff-ish as I may look. If most people got to know me, I think they would say the same. Laughter and comedy and making jokes is a coping mechanism for myself (sometimes), and I think it's always important to have a good laugh sometimes. You never know what another person is going through.
What is your favorite quote or saying that resonates with you?
"If there is a will, there is a way" is a quote I actually first heard from a rap song by Common. This is probably one of the only quotes that I can truly confide in and believe in. I believe in it because I've seen that quote come alive within myself and learning things and taking on roles so early on that I never thought I would. If you desperately want something, then you will do whatever it takes to get that. It may take a while, it may come with trial and error, and you might fail multiple times, but if you stick to it, it will eventually come!
Can you describe your younger self in third person?
My younger self thinks that he's figured out the world. He doesn't see the world in colors, rather black and white. He believes that his little high school philosophies will help him prosper in the real world. He's a little too confident, and he's not very subtle about it, but he is very driven, very determined, and will do whatever it takes to accomplish something. He has something to prove. He's very hard on himself; he is his biggest critic. He doesn't like birthdays; he would rather celebrate a personal accomplishment. He needs to understand that he doesn't know anything! And that is okay.
If you had the opportunity to start your own business, what kind of business would it be?
I would love to run my own architecture firm someday; that would be my business endeavor. I want to scale it as large as I can, so that maybe one day I can get my hands on an international project. I want my works to be all over this world. I want to tell a story with the way I design buildings and spaces.
What is one cause or charity that you are passionate about and why?
Food For The Hungry is a great non-profit that I've occasionally supported the last couple of years. Donating to a local food drive or shelter is also a closer option; my mom always taught me to be generous and to give whenever you can. It's important to lend a hand whenever you can, and to not judge folks based on their life situation. I've always sympathized with folks who are in much more difficult situations than I am, and so I am all for supporting people who are just trying to get back on their feet.
Stay tuned—there’s much more to come from Arturo. We’re proud to have him on the team.
Outstanding individual! He puts the pads on and suits up every day. The Ayrton Senna of Architecture.
